We are a Modern Thai Restaurant set on the idyllic Wharf Street, Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland. Our ethos is to seek and use as much local produce as we can, showcasing a taste of what we can grow up here in the tropics, highlighted by what we can grow on our very own 4 acre farm. We are currently open 5 days a week – Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm. Bookings are always a good idea and can be made via this website, calling us at 0438 055 038 or emailing us info@junglefowl.com.au
Jungle Fowl is an ode to our chickens. On our farm in Oak Beach (15 minutes from Port Douglas) we have a flock of hens tirelessly tending the soil, fertilising, controlling pests and always keeping us company when we garden. The name Jungle Fowl is a way of honouring their priceless contribution to our farm.
We are excited to be launching our Sunday Long Lunch by Chef Benjamin Wallace. Each week we will have a limited-seat Chef’s Table Lunch Experience running 12pm-3pm. Experience our very own chefs cooking and plating a 9 Course Menu right in front of you. The menu is tailored around our favourite local, seasonal, and sustainable produce with special focus on our very own produce grown at our 4-acre farm in Oak Beach. Our Sunday Long Lunch is running from April-October 2025. Bookings are required and seats are limited so be sure to secure your date.
Private groups and custom dates can be arranged for groups of 8+.

Jungle Fowl has been described as Modern Thai however we like the broader term of South East Asian, as we sometimes cross a few Thai borders with our menu. We are share-style and have a seasonal alacarte menu or banquet menu option when dining. Tropical North Queensland has a lot of similarities to South East Asian growing conditions so we can hero our own local produce will creating truly authentic flavours.

Eating coral trout mere kilometres from one of the world's most impressive reefs is a sensible choice, and it's made all the better in chef Benjamin Wallace's hands, dressed and heady with lemongrass and makrut lime. You'll also taste the abundance of the tropics in the bold and balanced small dishes - betel leaves topped with pomelo, coconut and just-set prawns, say, or ma hor with watermelon underpinning a scoop of salty-sweet caramelised pork. While mains stick more closely to the traditional Thai playbook, there are exceptions; mushroom larb, for instance, makes a strong case for more vegetarian takes on typically meat-focused classics. And as for the room, there's as much colour and vibrance on the walls as there are on the plates, thanks to co-owner Rachael Boon's murals, which make for an ace holiday setting. It's just another way in which Jungle Fowl brings its own breed of finessed fun to Far North Queensland.
